We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to support manufacturing operations in California. Responsibilities:
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory activity, and production results to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improved financial performance.
• Maintain and update standard cost data to reflect materials, labor, and overhead inputs with a high degree of accuracy.
• Prepare recurring cost reports and variance analyses that help leadership understand plant performance and key cost drivers.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance stakeholders to review production data and support cost-focused decision-making.
• Reconcile inventory and cost-related accounts to ensure financial records align with operational activity.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes by providing reliable manufacturing cost information.
• Review costing assumptions and recommend adjustments that improve reporting accuracy and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist with cost analysis tied to process changes, production efficiency, and other operational initiatives when needed.
• At least 5 years of experience in cost accounting, including work within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles and standard costing methodologies.
• Proven ability to perform detailed cost analysis, variance review, and inventory-related reconciliations.
• Experience translating production and financial data into practical recommendations for business partners.
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and month-end financial close activities.
• High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail in financial reporting.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in plant and corporate settings.
