Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Security Rounds in San Francisco, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a busy retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and a caring approach while staying agile and reliable in daily interactions with guests, tenants, and staff.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to clients, tenants, shoppers, and/or store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity.
Monitor access points, observe visitor and/or vendor activity, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations to the appropriate contacts.
Support a professional environment by providing directions, answering questions, and assisting with crowd flow, opening and closing activities, and other security-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
