Position Summary:\n
\nAs a senior member of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, this position produces clinical diagnostic \n
\nradiographic images, CT Scans and/or Mammographic Procedures. Position requires certification in 2 or more \n
\nof the 3 modalities mentioned. Performs routine diagnostic imaging, CT exams and/or Mammographic \n
\nprocedures according to departmental protocol, policy and procedures and established standards of practice. \n
\nOperates diagnostic imaging equipment, prepares room, equipment, supplies and medications. Provides \n
\nleadership to Rad Tech II technologists or other staff as is needed. Provides patient care services using \n
\ngeneral and specialized imaging modalities under the direction of a physician but not requiring constant \n
\ntechnical supervision. Provides diagnostic imaging services to patients of all ages. The Rad Tech III will take a \n
\nsupervisory role where designated or in the absence of supervisory or management staff.\n
\n
\nApplies ionizing radiation in the performance of a variety of technical procedures for radiological diagnosis. \n
\nResponsible for patient care safety. Assists physicians in the performance of interventional procedures and the \n
\nadministration of contrast media. Assumes responsibility for designated procedures and equipment.\n
\nParticipates in orientation of Radiology Department staff. Works cooperatively with members of the health care \n
\nteam to maintain standards for professional Diagnostic Imaging Technologist practice in the clinical setting.\n
\n
\nMinimum Education:\n
\nGraduate of an accredited radiology program\n
\n
\nMinimum Experience/Skills:\n
\nTwo (2) years recent acute care hospital experience in multiple modalities preferred\n
\n
\nLicenses/Certificates/Credentials:\n
\nMust possess and maintain throughout the duration of employment:\n
\nCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Provider issued by the American Heart Association; Current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license issued by the California Department of Public Health; Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Current CT certification required OR current Mammography certification; Current Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the California Department of Public Health (or within 6 months of hire/ transfer); Venipuncture certification (or within 6 months of hire/transfer)\n
