A growing commercial mechanical contractor is seeking a BIM Detailer – Sheet Metal to support HVAC projects from design coordination through fabrication. This role is responsible for developing coordinated ductwork models, producing fabrication-ready drawings, and collaborating with project managers, field teams, and other trades to ensure efficient project execution.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial HVAC detailing experience who enjoys solving coordination challenges and seeing their work come to life in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop coordinated HVAC ductwork models using Revit and related BIM software
- Produce shop drawings and fabrication documents for commercial HVAC systems
- Coordinate layouts with structural, architectural, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection trades
- Review project drawings and specifications to support accurate detailing
- Convert design revisions into updated construction documentation and as-builts
- Participate in coordination meetings and help resolve design conflicts
- Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- 2–5 years of HVAC sheet metal detailing, BIM, CAD drafting, or mechanical construction experience
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Experience coordinating ductwork layouts within commercial construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, architectural, and structural drawings
- Experience producing shop drawings and fabrication documents
- Familiarity with Bluebeam and applicable HVAC industry standards is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
