Human Resources Assistant (Temporary Contract)

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $23–$25/hour

A mission-driven healthcare organization is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide temporary support to the HR team. Key Responsibilities

Human Resources & Recruiting Support

  • Assist with recruiting and hiring activities
  • Collect, track, and upload compliance documentation
  • Prepare new hire folders and onboarding materials
  • Maintain employee personnel files, including new hire and termination records
  • Assist with employee transfer letters and other HR documentation
  • Update and maintain organizational charts

Administrative Support

  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties
  • Prepare check requests and allocate department expenses
  • Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files
  • Assist with special HR projects as needed

Employee Engagement & Communications

  • Support employee recognition programs, including birthdays and work anniversaries
  • Assist with newsletters and internal communications
  • Help coordinate employee engagement initiatives and events

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 6 months of administrative, HR, recruiting, or related experience (internship experience accepted)
  • Strong organizational and data entry skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general administrative functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Previous Human Resources or Recruiting experience
  • Experience supporting onboarding, personnel file management, or compliance processes

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA 90005.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
