ABOUT THIS ROLE

QA Coordinator in the quality department is responsible for conducting a variety of verifications as stated in standard operating procedures with the goal of ensuring that product meets minimum standards. The employee in this position must be able to proficiently prepare, review, and distribute Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for finished products. Ensuring products meet desired quality standards per third party laboratory results, within customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards. Works in close communication with department supervisor as well as other departments to provide sufficient quality feedback. Must have successfully completed a minimum of 90-day probation in Quality Assurance role.

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Performs work in accordance with all quality systems requirements included in SQF policies and procedures, including Food Safety, Food Defense, HACCP, and GMPs.

  • Prepare and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for finished products in a timely manner.

  • Verify laboratory results, production records, and product specifications before generating COAs.

  • Ensure all COAs accurately reflect product test results and customer-specific requirements.

  • Manage Micro Hold and Release program post review of final results from third party laboratory.

  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to product release.

  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy records of COAs and supporting documentation.

  • Communicate with Customer Service, Sales, Warehouse, Scalehouse and Shipping.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to product documentation or laboratory results.

  • Update COA templates and product specifications as required.

  • Maintain customer-specific documentation requirements.

  • Assist with audits and support document control procedures.

LOCATION & SHIFT INFO

  • This position will work out of our Alluvial location.
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and cold temperatures.
  • Frequent stand and walk, and use of hands, fingers, and arms to pull, feel, reach, and handle product/fruit. Ability to sit and use a computer to produce reports and document findings.
  • Will spend most of the day standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
  • Ability to taste and smell is a requirement of the job.
  • Ability to talk or hear instructions over machinery, equipment, and other processing equipment.
  • A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to detail and minimal down time.
  • Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as buckets of fruit, boxes, pails, etc. Lifting requirement: Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. independently.
  • Other duties as assigned requiring repetitive tasks, duties, or assignments.
  • Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team and deadlines.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, ability to see all colors, adjust focus, and recognize color.
  • You may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration. Exposure to smell of cleaning products and agents for the sanitation of equipment and machinery regularly.
  • Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Cannot be allergic to fruit.
