Desired Qualifications:
- Possess a valid California Teaching Credential with Deaf and Hard of Hearing authorization
- Prior experience in a school-based setting is highly valued
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families
- Strong commitment to collaborative teamwork and individualized student support
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Deliver direct, specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments, both in mainstream and self-contained settings
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, collaborating closely with general education teachers, speech/language pathologists, and support staff
- Facilitate communication access for students using a range of modalities and assistive technologies
- Engage families and caregivers as essential partners in the educational process
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse learning styles
