Job DescriptionJob Title: Medical Assistant
Reports to : Office Manager
Job Location: Laguna hills, CA
Job Overview: Responsible for patient care under the direction of a doctor or office manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
1. Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care.
2. Answer phone calls and process messages
3. Schedule patients' appointments.
4. Maintain patient records confidentially.
5. Enter patients information and medical records in EMR
6. Process co pays at the time of patients' visit.
7. Verify insurance and process prior authorizations .
8. Fax and scan patients documents
9. Handle medical records according to HIPPA guidelines
10.Perform other duties as assigned per the requirement of medical/surgical practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
2.Experience working in medical office and with patients .
3.Ability to learn .
4. Certification in medical assistance preferred.
