Janitor, Full-Time
(Starting Range $16.97- $20.37)
Linda Valley Villa, an independent living community for senior retirees located in Loma Linda, seeks an experienced and responsible Janitor that will perform maintenance and housekeeping duties in the community and around the community grounds as assigned. The Janitor will assist with maintaining the community’s physical plant, fixtures, equipment, and grounds so that the building is clean, comfortable, in good repair, and is in safe operating condition at all times.

The Janitor is a critical part of our team. The essential duties of the position include:

The Janitor is mainly responsible for performing maintenance on our carpet and floors. We are seeking someone that is proficient in using a floor buffer machine on carpet and other surfaces. Performs carpet and hard surface floor maintenance (4-5 times per week).

The Janitor is responsible for performing maintenance on our building such as our bathrooms, lights and fixtures, ventilation system, roof, and other minor repairs.

Housekeeping duties such as our trash, recycling, public restrooms, windows, and floors.

Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the residents, guests, and team members.

Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner as assigned by supervisor

Ability to keep an organized record of work orders and cleaning supply inventory

Assists senior maintenance team member with working on heating & air conditioning systems.

Assists with housekeeping functions as needed.

Assists the office staff carry out fire drills and fire watch.

Maintains equipment and supplies to avoid waste, damage to areas and equipment and to prevent accidents.

Practices positive resident relations and directs resident or family member feedback to supervisor.

Always maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information.
Qualifications:

Expect to be on your feet, walking, lifting, cleaning, and inspecting are all part of the job

High School diploma or equivalent, preferred

Valid drivers' license, preferred

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds

Must be able to work on weekends and holidays

Must work at least one evening shift (2pm - 11pm) once a week and then regular hours (8am - 5pm) for the rest of the weekdays

Ability to read and understand instructions in English, complete reports, and be able to communicate well with our residents and co-workers

You must have basic knowledge of appliances, HVAC (change air filters, troubleshooting), plumbing, painting, and carpet

Ability to use cleaning and maintenance tools and equipment's
