Pay Range: $25–$28/hr (DOE)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift

We are actively seeking an Excavator Operator / Heavy Equipment Operator to join a fast-paced recycling and materials processing operation. In this hands-on role, you will utilize excavators and material handling equipment to support daily production, efficiently manage recyclable materials, and help maintain the steady flow of operations throughout a high-volume facility. This position is ideal for an experienced equipment operator who values safety, precision, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on daily production goals.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Operate track excavators, hydraulic excavators, material handlers, long-reach excavators, demolition excavators, and grapple-equipped machines to move, sort, separate, and process materials
  • Utilize attachments such as grapples, magnets, buckets, thumbs, and sorting attachments to maximize production efficiency and material recovery
  • Load trucks, containers, hoppers, crushers, and processing equipment safely and accurately
  • Maintain material stockpiles and support efficient material flow throughout the facility
  • Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance concerns
  • Safely maneuver equipment in an active environment with trucks, personnel, and other heavy machinery present
  • Coordinate with supervisors and production teams to support daily operational goals
  • Adapt to changing production priorities, material volumes, and site conditions
  • Maintain organized work areas and consistently follow site safety requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of experience operating excavators, material handlers, or similar heavy equipment in recycling, demolition, scrap metal, aggregate, landfill, construction, or industrial environments
  • Experience operating one or more of the following: hydraulic excavators, track excavators, material handlers, demolition excavators, long-reach excavators, grapple excavators, or magnet-equipped excavators
  • Strong understanding of safe operating practices in active industrial settings
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team production goals
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic in a production-driven environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform routine equipment inspections
  • Effective communication skills and a proactive, safety-focused mindset
