Veterinary Assistant (Experienced)

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing veterinary team. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional patient care and client service.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and treatments
- Safely restrain and handle dogs, cats, and other small animals
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas
- Collect patient histories and record medical information accurately
- Assist with laboratory procedures, diagnostics, and sample collection
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital
- Educate clients on basic pet care, medications, and discharge instructions
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary assistant experience preferred
- Knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift and restrain animals safely
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with venipuncture, radiology, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software
- Veterinary Assistant certification is a plus but not required
