Job Summary

Axis Product Development is a growing aerospace and defense manufacturing company seeking a Deburr Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for removing burrs and sharp edges from precision machined components while ensuring parts meet customer quality requirements before moving to inspection or the next manufacturing operation.

The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in producing high-quality parts, and understands the importance of precision in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deburr precision machined aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and other metal components using hand tools, pneumatic tools, rotary tools, files, abrasive wheels, and other finishing equipment.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, and machining marks while maintaining part dimensions and cosmetic appearance.
  • Break edges and perform surface finishing to blueprint and customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Inspect parts visually for defects, scratches, dents, or damage prior to submitting to Quality.
  • Verify that all required machining operations have been completed before parts move to the next process.
  • Maintain traceability and accurately complete travelers and production paperwork.
  • Safely handle finished parts to prevent cosmetic damage.
  • Keep work area clean and organized while following 5S practices.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Work closely with machinists, inspectors, and production personnel to maintain workflow and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Previous deburring or manufacturing experience preferred but willing to train motivated candidates with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience working in a CNC machine shop is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand basic GD&T is preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools, die grinders, files, abrasive stones, Scotch-Brite, countersinks, and other deburring tools is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to identify cosmetic defects and surface imperfections.
  • Basic computer skills for production tracking and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand motions throughout the day.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
