JOB SUMMARY: Associate Mechanical Engineer ($22-$25/hr DOE)
The Associate Mechanical Engineer is responsible for having all necessary
documentation complete, accurate and on schedule for all current and new client
prospects. This includes items such as assembly drawings, parts list, bills of material,
Appendix A and /or AQ, harness drawings, manufacturing instructions and test
procedures.
2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ FUNCTIONS
A. Create cut lists, wire schedules, BOMs and other engineering documentation as
needed. Load Ml and BOM information into Ad-On
B. Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product
design, components, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment
capabilities, assembly methods, test methods and quality control standards.
C. Work closely with the Quality Department on cable, harness, mechanical assembly and
test issues.
D. Provide on-call support to manufacturing on 1st Articles process issues.
E. Maintain control of the master product files and engineering documentation under their
assigned area of responsibility.
F. Assist in the investigation and evaluation of component defects and in-process, final and
return product nonconformance's to determine root cause and appropriate corrective
action.
G. Work with component and equipment suppliers on manufacturing requirements.
3. OTHER FUNCTIONS
A. Meet established goals and objectives as set forth by management
B. Establish Process and Workmanship Standards
C. Maintain adherence to ISO clauses
D. Write technical reports and compile matrices and data as needed.
E. Perform other duties when/as assigned
Education:
Associate's degree in technical discipline or combination of education and directly
related experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience.
Skills/Characteristics Necessary to Perform Essential Functions:
1. Read and understand component drawings, schematics procedures and
specifications, with an understanding of dimensions and tolerances.
2. Have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and MRP
4. Ability to utilize basic test and measuring equipment.
5. Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
6. Ability to communicate in Spanish and English is a plus.
