Make an impact this school year as a dedicated Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher in a welcoming educational environment near Daly City, CA. This contract role is your opportunity to support students with disabilities by providing high-quality, individualized physical education that promotes health, development, and self-confidence.

As an APE Teacher, you will design and deliver tailored physical education lessons, adapting activities to meet unique student needs and abilities. You’ll work closely with fellow educators, families, and support staff to implement comprehensive programs that help students achieve their physical and educational objectives in an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California teaching credential with Adaptive Physical Education authorization, or eligibility to obtain
  • Prior experience serving students with special needs preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive setting for diverse learners

Responsibilities:

  • Assess student abilities and create individualized education plans for physical education
  • Adapt equipment, activities, and instruction to ensure accessibility and student engagement
  • Track progress and regularly update goals to address evolving student needs
  • Facilitate group and individual sessions as outlined by student IEPs
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, service providers, and administrators to maximize student success
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP development
