Industrial Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer for a long-term, travel-based assignment supporting operations in California and Texas. The assignment will begin in California for approximately 7 weeks, move to Texas for approximately 4 weeks, and then return to California for approximately 4 weeks. This rotation is expected to continue for at least 6 months.
Candidates do not need to be local to California or Texas. Approved travel expenses, lodging, and related assignment costs will be covered.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes, workflows, labor utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, productivity enhancement, and waste elimination.
- Perform time studies, workflow analysis, capacity analysis, and production assessments.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Evaluate facility layouts, equipment placement, production flow, and material movement.
- Monitor operational performance using key performance indicators, productivity metrics, and data analysis.
- Recommend solutions that improve safety, quality, throughput, and overall operational performance.
- Travel between California and Texas according to the required project rotation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing, production, or operations environments.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, process optimization, and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with time studies, capacity planning, workflow analysis, and productivity improvement.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
- Ability to create process documentation, reports, procedures, and operational recommendations.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel between California and Texas for extended assignments.
- Ability to work effectively in changing project locations and operational environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other engineering or analytical tools is preferred.
