Vital Researchis seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Assistant Census Coordinator to join our Aging & Disabilities team in support of a statewide Quality of Life (QOL) survey project.
In this role, you'll support the success of a large-scale research study by managing census data, preparing field assignments, maintaining data quality, and coordinating project information. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and ensuring accuracy in a fast-paced environment while contributing to research that improves the lives of older adults.
What You'll Do
As a Research Assistant Census Coordinator, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of project data and supporting field operations.
Data Coordination & Quality Management
- Receive, organize, clean, and maintain census data using Microsoft Excel and Access.
- Match, process, and validate data files from multiple sources.
- Monitor project activities and maintain accurate tracking databases.
- Generate assignment packets for Field Interviewers.
- Audit, troubleshoot, and correct data discrepancies to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Upload and maintain project data within internal databases.
- Contact nursing facilities to obtain missing census materials and clarify information as needed.
- Follow established procedures while meeting strict project deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, data security, and project protocols.
Project & Administrative Support
- Track project progress and maintain accurate project records.
- Communicate updates with internal project teams.
- Assist with meeting documentation, document preparation, printing, mailing, and other administrative support.
- Provide additional project support as assigned.
What You Bring
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a social science or related field preferred.
- One year of experience in research, administrative support, healthcare, customer service, data management, or a related field.
- Availability to work in-office MondayFriday, 6:00 a.m.2:30 p.m. PT (approximately 40 hours per week).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel; experience with Microsoft Access is a plus.
- Comfortable using Zoom and other virtual collaboration tools.
Preferred
- Experience supporting research, survey administration, evaluation, or healthcare-related projects.
- Experience working with large datasets, data quality assurance, or database management.
- Familiarity with healthcare terminology.
- Experience using survey platforms such as Alchemer or Voxco
