Electrical Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Manager to lead electrical projects from planning through commissioning. The role is responsible for overseeing electrical installations, managing teams of electricians and installers, ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate combines hands-on electrical expertise with strong leadership, project management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electrical teams, including direct employees and subcontracted installers, ensuring clear direction, high performance and safe work practices.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate all electrical activities across multiple projects to meet milestones and delivery targets.
  • Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, control systems, and specialty systems) ensuring code compliance and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, procurement of materials and subcontractor scopes to control project financials.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications and shop drawings; provide technical guidance to resolve design or installation issues.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety and environmental policies on site, including adherence to NEC, local regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Perform quality assurance and site inspections; create and maintain documentation, punch lists and closeout packages.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, project managers and other trades to resolve conflicts, update schedules and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Coach, train and mentor installers and electricians to develop skills, improve productivity and maintain high workmanship standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical problems in the field and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Vocational qualification, Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or equivalent; journeyman/electrician certification or state license preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical construction or industrial/commercial installations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven experience managing electrical projects from planning through completion, including scheduling, budgeting and procurement.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC/NFPA), testing procedures, commissioning and safety best practices.
  • Experience working with and supervising installers and subcontractors; strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, control schematics and common design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, PMP or equivalent are a plus; valid drivers license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
