Position Overview
\n
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives within a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations while partnering with cross-functional teams to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, permitting, and environmental management systems, along with the ability to identify and mitigate environmental risks.

Key Responsibilities
\n

- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations related to:
- Air emissions
- Hazardous waste
- Wastewater
- Stormwater
- Chemical and hazardous material management
- Identify compliance risks, permitting gaps, and operational vulnerabilities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain environmental permits, compliance documentation, emissions inventories, and regulatory reporting records.
- Manage environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste management, hazardous material shipping, and spill prevention initiatives.
- Support air compliance activities such as:
- Stack testing
- Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR)
- Greenhouse Gas (GHG) monitoring
- Criteria pollutant tracking
- Monitor wastewater treatment operations and support stormwater management programs.
- Coordinate and lead environmental inspections, audits, and interactions with regulatory agencies.
- Conduct facility inspections of environmental control systems, hazardous waste storage areas, and chemical storage locations.
- Investigate environmental incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Manufacturing, and EHS teams to maintain compliance and improve environmental performance.
- Develop and maintain environmental procedures, standards, and training materials.
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports, including emissions inventories, discharge monitoring reports, and other regulatory filings.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting regulatory deadlines.

Required Qualifications
\n

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing or other highly regulated industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance reporting.
- Experience managing environmental programs related to:
- Air emissions
- Hazardous waste
- Wastewater
- Stormwater
- Hazardous materials
- Experience with environmental audits, inspections, and regulatory agency interactions.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and environmental compliance tracking or reporting systems.
- Ability to work in industrial or manufacturing environments and conduct field inspections.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting semiconductor, chemical, pharmaceutical, electronics, or other highly regulated manufacturing operations.
