Middle School | Lakeside, CA | 2026-2027 School Year

Cross Country Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join a supportive middle school team in Lakeside, California for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates with a California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential are strongly preferred. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide school-based mental health services and help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Position Details

  • Location: Lakeside, CA
  • \n

  • Setting: Middle School
  • \n

  • School Year: August 18, 2026 – June 9, 2027
  • \n

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • \n

  • Hours: 30 hours per week
  • \n

  • Compensation: $60-$64/hour on a W-2, paid weekly
  • \n

Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Provide individual and small group counseling services to middle school students
  • \n

  • Conduct mental health assessments and develop intervention plans as appropriate
  • \n

  • Support students experiencing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
  • \n

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, counselors, and families to promote student success
  • \n

  • Participate in Student Study Team (SST), IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
  • \n

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
  • \n

  • Provide crisis intervention and connect students and families with appropriate community resources when necessary
  • \n

  • Promote a positive and inclusive school climate through consultation and preventative mental health supports
  • \n

Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Active California LMFT or LCSW license
  • \n

  • California PPS Credential preferred
  • \n

  • Previous school-based or pediatric behavioral health experience preferred
  • \n

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, crisis intervention, and school-based mental health services
  • \n

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • \n
