Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support high-volume financial and administrative tasks for a Contract position based in Poway, California. This role is well suited for someone who is comfortable handling detailed data entry, organizing invoice and contract records, and working across accounting systems and spreadsheets with accuracy. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, stay organized while managing a backlog of work, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day processing of financial documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Process outstanding invoices and contract-related records in a timely and accurate manner, helping reduce existing administrative backlog.
• Enter, review, and update financial information across Sage, scheduling platforms, and related internal tracking tools.
• Maintain Excel workbooks by updating data, applying formulas, and preserving organized records for reporting and reconciliation purposes.
• Assist with accounts payable activities, including verifying invoice details and preparing documentation for payment processing.
• Review financial entries for completeness and accuracy, correcting discrepancies when needed and escalating issues appropriately.
• Organize accounting documentation so contracts, invoices, and supporting records are easy to access and audit.
• Support daily clerical accounting tasks that help keep financial operations current and well documented.
• Contribute to work associated with the use of multiple software platforms as accounting records are processed and maintained.• At least 1 year of experience in accounting support, clerical accounting, or a related administrative finance role.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable processes and invoice handling.
• Experience with data entry in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Sage Accounting Software and QuickBooks is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and workbook maintenance.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.
• Ability to manage a high volume of repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and organization.
