School Speech Language Pathologist - Whittier, CA
Job Description
Job Description
Step into a dynamic, school-based role dedicated to empowering students through expert speech-language services across a major district in the LA area. As an on-site speech-language pathologist, you’ll have the opportunity to work full-time during the academic year, supporting diverse caseloads and collaborating with passionate educational professionals. Candidates can expect itinerant assignments (typically 1-4 schools, with an average of 2), and the district ensures commutes will not exceed 20 miles or one hour.
This position welcomes both experienced clinicians and clinical fellows (with supervision arranged), but assistants are not eligible. With a robust support structure—case managers are assigned at each campus—you can focus on direct services rather than overall case management.
What makes this role stand out:
- School-based, contract position running August 11, 2026 – June 4, 2027
- Full-time schedule (40 hours/week, 7:30am–4:00pm) during the academic year
- Caseloads of 55-60 students, supporting a range of ages and developmental needs
- Assignments are strictly on site; virtual/remote work is not an option
- Assessment material expenditures will be reimbursed up to $2500
Desired qualifications:
- Valid California SLP license
- CTC document on file: preliminary or clear SLP credential, or Certificate of Clearance
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC or CF; supervision is required for CFs)
- Previous experience working in school settings is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference, working within a committed educational team and supporting students’ communication and academic achievements.
Embark on your next career adventure—apply now to bring your speech-language expertise to school communities where your skills will be valued every day!
