A healthcare facility on the California Central Coast is seeking four experienced pharmacists to fill immediate travel positions focused on inpatient pharmacy services. These roles involve working in a fast-paced hospital setting, providing essential pharmaceutical care that supports patient treatment and safety.
Position Details:
- Location: San Luis Obispo, CA area
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks or more
- Immediate start available
- Two positions available for day shifts (4 ten-hour days per week, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM)
- Two positions available for night shifts (7 days on, 7 days off, 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and appropriateness
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient pharmacy operations
- Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapies
- Provide pharmacokinetics services and clinical consultations
- Utilize pharmacy information systems such as Cerner and Omnicell
Qualifications:
- Active California Pharmacist license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient pharmacy experience
- Strong clinical knowledge and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Schedule:
- Day shift pharmacist: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Night shift pharmacist: 7 days on, 7 days off, 12.5-hour overnight shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
