A Sonogram Technician is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to capture images for diagnostic purposes. This role involves working closely with patients to perform sonographic procedures safely and effectively, assisting physicians in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound machines to capture diagnostic images.
- Prepare patients for sonographic exams by explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
- Analyze preliminary images to ensure quality and completeness.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures.
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to support diagnosis.
- Maintain and clean sonography equipment according to protocols.
- Adhere to safety standards and infection control procedures.
