Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $45-$55/hour
About the Role:
We are seeking dedicated and qualified Special Education Teachers to join a supportive school community in Lancaster, California. We currently have two full-time Mild/Moderate Special Day Class (SDC) openings serving upper elementary and middle school students. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a collaborative team of educators.
Current Openings:
1 Mild/Moderate Special Day Class (SDC) Teacher:
Grades 4–6
1 Mild/Moderate Special Day Class (SDC) Teacher:
Grades 7–8
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals while maintaining compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Assess student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and use data to inform instructional decisions.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence.
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, and positive behavior supports to maximize student achievement.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Mild/Moderate Support Needs (MMSN) authorization.
- Experience teaching in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and special education compliance requirements.
