Job DescriptionHealthcare Navigator
Pay Rate: $32.70/hour
Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM - Monday to FridayPosition SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Healthcare Navigator to provide crucial support to a busy department. The selected candidate will assist with a variety of administrative, clinical intake, and documentation tasks to enhance patient care coordination. This temporary role plays a key part in ensuring timely access to patient information, accurate record management, and efficient scheduling workflows.Key Responsibilities
- Request and obtain medical records from external clinics, hospitals, laboratories, and radiology centers.
- Receive and process incoming radiology images, ensuring they are uploaded to patient charts accurately.
- Create new patient records in the EMR (Cerner) and integrate external documentation.
- Monitor incoming referrals and escalate urgent cases for prompt attention.
- Manage shared group email and fax inboxes; upload or route documents as needed for review.
- Send registration forms and relevant information to new patients via email.
- Support Healthcare Navigators by preparing patient charts, verifying medical histories, records, and insurance documentation (authorizations, orders, etc.).
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks to optimize patient preparedness and departmental workflows.
Desired Experience
- Previous healthcare administrative or back-office experience required.
- Familiarity with ENT/Otolaryngology workflows is an asset.
- Experience working with EMR systems, preferably Cerner.
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and efficiency.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to established procedures.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Skilled in handling electronic documents: uploading, downloading, converting between formats (PDF, Word, image files, scans).
- Comfortable using e-fax platforms and other digital communication tools.
