We are looking for a qualified bookkeeper to work for a small business with several entities.
Responsibilities:
- - Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for individual clients, LLCs, and S Corporations.
- - Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- - Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- - Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
- - Coordinate with CPA firm to supply information for annual tax returns for individual, LLC, and corporate tax returns.
- - Lead budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- - Estimate taxes owed on an ongoing basis for LLC/corporate franchise taxes, City of LA Business Tax, federal and state income taxes, and self-employment taxes.
- - Ensure proper documentation and record retention for all financial transactions.
- - Process payroll using payroll vendors such as QuickBooks Online Payroll and ADP.
- - Track insurance policies and provide reports on premiums paid, coverage dates, and policy information.
- - File Statements of Information for LLCs and S Corps.
Qualifications:
- - Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role.
- - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- - Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- - Proficiency in using accounting software, such as QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online Payroll, and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
- - Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with owner and team members.
- - Ability to manage multiple companies’ accounts simultaneously.
- - Understanding of tax laws and regulations related to individuals, LLCs, and S Corporations.
- - Strong organizational and time management skills.
- - Professional certification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Bookkeeper (CB), is a plus.
