We are seeking an experienced RF Test Technician to support the testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and optimization of RF systems and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF electronics, system-level testing, and component-level troubleshooting, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform advanced RF testing of products and assemblies operating within the MHz to GHz frequency range.
- Conduct automated system-level testing and calibration using Windows-based test platforms.
- Troubleshoot RF assemblies and electronic circuits to the component level.
- Analyze test results and identify root causes of performance issues.
- Install software and configure Windows-based systems used for testing and production.
- Tune and adjust component values to optimize RF amplifier and system performance.
- Maintain accurate test records and documentation in compliance with quality standards.
- Complete Test Data Records and other required production and quality documentation.
- Ensure proper control and organization of test data and related records.
- Work closely with the Operations Supervisor to prioritize and complete daily and weekly assignments.
- Follow established procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements throughout the testing process.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field, or a technical certificate in Electronics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing, testing, or RF environment.
- Strong background in RF systems and electronic test methodologies.
- Proficiency in the use of RF test equipment, including:
- Spectrum Analyzers
- Signal Generators
- Network Analyzers
- Frequency Counters
- Power Meters
- Related RF measurement instruments
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, test procedures, and technical documentation.
- Active Secret level US Government Security Clearance
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of RF circuitry, including:
- Amplifiers
- Mixers
- Couplers
- Filters
- Other RF components
- Knowledge of RF performance characteristics and measurements, including:
Gain
Insertion Loss
Return Loss
Phase Noise
Noise Figure
AM/FM Modulation
PM Modulation
- Ability to troubleshoot DC, analog, and RF circuits down to the component level.
