Make a meaningful difference in the lives of middle and high school students by bringing your expertise in special education to a non-public alternative school setting. This is a contract opportunity for the 2026/2027 school year in the San Diego area, supporting students with varied educational needs in an encouraging and adaptive environment. As a dedicated educator, you will collaborate with school staff and families to foster academic, social, and emotional growth for each student.

What we’re seeking:

  • Valid Autism Authorization (AAAS) and Mild/Moderate Education Specialist credentials (please provide a screenshot of your active CTC credentials; be sure to remove any last name from resumes and CTC documents before submitting)
  • Experience working in a middle or high school setting with students on the autism spectrum, or with other moderate disabilities
  • Strong classroom management, IEP development, and progress monitoring skills
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and utilize technology for diverse learning styles
  • Skillful in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including related service providers and family members
  • Empathy, patience, and a growth mindset in supporting students’ individual journeys

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to individualized education program (IEP) goals
  • Modify the general education curriculum to meet the needs of students at varying academic levels
  • Foster a positive learning climate with clear behavioral supports and high expectations
  • Collect and analyze data to document student progress and adjust instruction as needed
  • Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and support personnel to ensure student success
  • Maintain accurate records and compliance with all relevant regulations
