Job Summary

Boozehounds is Palm Springs dog-friendly, Michelin recommended hotspot and were gearing up for our biggest, busiest season ever. Were looking for the most hospitable, energetic, and talented servers in the desert to join our pack. Please note that this is a part-time position, and weekend availability is required.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Be thoroughly familiar with all standards of proper service etiquette and adhere to these standards throughout guest service.
  • It is each servers responsibility to greet guests as they enter the restaurant.
  • Suggest and promote food and drinks served, as food and drink sales are an important part of the position.
  • Be aware of all state liquor laws as well as company and departmental policies regarding consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Verify guest age and identification, serve alcohol responsibly, and monitor for signs of intoxication in accordance with California ABC regulations.
  • Know all available spirited beverages, NA Beverages, beers, and wines by the glass or bottle. Also, be familiar and comfortable discussing regions, styles, and varietals of wines offered.
  • Knowledgeable about all menus and hours of operation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of dietary/allergy information and communicate modifications accurately to the kitchen.
  • Be familiar with emergency safety measures.
  • Maintain and ensure each table is clean and presentable for every guest.
  • Take food and beverage orders; ensure placement of order and accurate and timely delivery.
  • Utilize the POS system for all guest transactions, including accurately opening, maintaining, and closing guest tabs.
  • Handle cash and card payments and reconcile at the end of each shift.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all guests including their dogs.
  • Work special group functions as required.
  • Follow the steps of service as outlined for your position.
  • Complete opening/closing duties.

  • Tasks will be performed using and in the proximity of coolers, stoves, and other hot equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • At least two years related experience required.
  • Must hold or obtain a valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Must hold or obtain a valid California Food Handler card within 30 days of hire.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as e-mail communication, instant message communications, legal documents, license agreements, contracts, invoices, news articles, technical manuals, budgets, ledgers, purchase orders, financial, marketing, Inventory, shipping, and various reports. Ability to effectively present information, provide instructions and thoroughly answer questions in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization in English.


Reasoning Ability and Computer Skills

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to efficiently use inventory, ordering & computer systems or applications and Microsoft Office programs.
