Are you an experienced RBT ready to take the next step in your career? If so, EBC is the work family for you!

The Trainer (TNR) at Education Behavior Consultants Inc plays a vital role in our team’s growth. This hybrid position balances direct care with clinical mentorship. You will provide high-quality 1:1 ABA therapy to clients while actively coaching, modeling, and supporting new Behavior Technicians (BTs) as they prepare for their RBT exams and transition to independent floor work.

Role Expectations of Trainer

Clinical Training & Mentorship

  • On-the-Floor Coaching: Lead “on-the-floor” modeling, shadowing, and hands-on clinical training for new hires.
  • New Hire Onboarding: Present and lead new hire training sessions to build strong foundational skills.
  • Exam Prep Support: Guide staff through the 40-hour RBT course progress and study materials to help them pass the RBT exam.
  • Collaborative Training: Partner with the supervision team (Mid-Level/BCaBA/BCBAs) to identify and address staff training needs.

Direct Client Care (RBT Duties)

  • Direct Therapy: Provide 1:1 ABA therapy in clinic, home, school and community settings.
  • Program Implementation: Run individualized treatment plans for skills acquisition and behavior reduction as developed by the BCBA.
  • Data Collection & Notes: Track client progress by collecting precise session data and writing clear, professional daily session notes.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Partner closely with the supervision team (Mid-Level/BCaBA/BCBAs), provide feedback on client programs and seek clinical guidance when needed.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain your credentials and stay current on best practices.

Requirements:

Candidate Requirements of Trainer:

  • Active RBT Certification with the BACB
  • Minimum 1 year of experience of direct clinical care in an ABA environment
  • 1 year of experience as a trainer, lead, or mentor in an ABA environment (Preferred)

Qualifications for Trainer:

  • Core ABA Proficiency: Must be able to comfortably use, explain, and model the following concepts:
    • Preference Assessments
    • ABC Data Collection
    • Differential Reinforcement
    • Antecedent & Consequence Interventions
    • Extinction Procedures
    • Shaping, Chaining, and Task Analysis
  • Tech Literacy: Proficient in Google Workspace and digital data-collection systems (i.e. Theralytics, etc.)
  • Logistics & Compliance: Qualified candidates must:
    • Have a minimum availability of 30-40 hours per week
    • Be willing and able to work 5% of monthly hours in chair with client to maintain RBT Cert
    • Have and maintain a clear criminal record
    • Have CPR/First Aid and CPI Certificates of Training
    • Have strong verbal and written English skills (bilingual is a plus)
    • Have reliable transportation to support good attendance and travel between work sites as needed

Physical Demands of POSITION:

  • Must have full physical dexterity and agility to bend, kneel, stand and play on the floor to keep up with active clients.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must have sufficient corrected or uncorrected vision to ensure client safety and to carry out all clinical duties.
