Job Description
The Hospital Transport Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient internal transport of patients within the hospital. Reporting to the Transport Supervisor, this position focuses on manual patient handling and equipment transport while maintaining safety and communication standards during day shifts and occasional weekends or holidays.
13 Week Contract with the option to extend or go perm
Shift: (09:30 - 17:30)
Experience: Prior work experience as a transport aide in acute care hospital setting
Transport patients in a medical/hospital environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients within hospital premises
- Handle and move medical equipment as needed
- Monitor patient safety and overall transport conditions
- Communicate effectively with healthcare staff and patients
- Maintain sanitization of transport equipment and areas
- Keep accurate records related to transport activities
- Provide assistance and support during patient transfers
- Respond promptly to emergencies during transport
- Collaborate with transport team members for efficient workflow
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in patient transport
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong patient care and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and time management abilities
- Knowledge of safety compliance and protocols
