Star Staffing is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manual Machinist/Fabricator for a Manufacturing Leader in the Central Valley! Be part of a team known for innovation, a strong safety and family culture, and a supportive, hands-on work environment.

Pay: $34–$40/hr, based on experience Mon-Fri

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Machinist/Fabricator to support plant operations through machining, fabrication, equipment repair, and general maintenance. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting, designing, and modifying parts and systems to keep production running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual machining equipment (lathe, mill, drill press) to create and repair components.
  • Perform metal fabrication, welding (MIG, TIG, stick), cutting, and assembly tasks.
  • Repair, install, and troubleshoot mechanical systems, production machinery, and facility equipment.
  • Design and fabricate custom components, tooling, and safety guards.
  • Conduct pipe fitting, torch cutting, and layout work on various materials.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve equipment issues.
  • Assist with facility maintenance, including carpentry and basic electrical work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with manual machining, metal fabrication, welding, and pipe fitting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices; basic electrical knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with shop equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, band saws, grinders, and hand tools.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to train others on technical processes.
  • Associate degree, technical school, or equivalent experience.
  • U.S. work authorization required.

Physical Requirements

  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), bending, reaching, and manual dexterity.
  • Work may be indoors or outdoors, with exposure to temperature changes, dust, and uneven surfaces.
  • Must meet vision and respirator certification requirements.
