Position: Chemical Process Technician

Location: Carlsbad, CA 92011

Job Type: Contract

\n

Pay Rate: $28–$32/hour

\n

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM PST

\n

Hours: 40 hours/week

\n

Industry: Chemical Manufacturing / Electronics / Specialty Chemicals

Position Summary

\n

    \n
  • We are seeking an Operations Technician to support chemical manufacturing operations in Carlsbad, CA. This role involves receiving, decontaminating, assembling, inspecting, and filling vessels with ultra-pure chemicals.
  • \n

  • The ideal candidate has experience in chemical handling or a fast-paced manufacturing environment, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to perform physically demanding work. SAP experience is highly preferred.
  • \n

\n


\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Perform manual and automated vessel decontamination.
  • \n

  • Fill and package chemical products.
  • \n

  • Consolidate hazardous waste according to established procedures.
  • \n

  • Acid wash stainless steel and quartz vessels.
  • \n

  • Assist with receiving materials and unloading trucks.
  • \n

  • Assemble vessels using drawings and written work instructions.
  • \n

  • Inspect vessels and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • \n

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
  • \n

  • Assist with troubleshooting system issues.
  • \n

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
  • \n

  • Safely handle chemicals including acids, acetone, IPA, and other solvents.
  • \n

Required Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • \n

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • \n

  • Ability to work safely with chemicals and required PPE.
  • \n

  • Must be clean-shaven to properly wear required respiratory protection.
  • \n

  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
  • \n

  • Ability to read and understand SDS and written work instructions.
  • \n

  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • \n

\n


\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Experience handling chemicals, solvents, acids, acetone, or IPA.
  • \n

  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, production, or a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • \n

  • Experience with SAP and/or LIMS.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint.
  • \n

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • \n

Physical & Work Requirements

\n

    \n
  • Frequently lift and carry 25–35 pounds.
  • \n

  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • \n

  • Wear a full-face air-purifying respirator and other required PPE.
  • \n

  • Complete a pre-placement Fit for Duty Evaluation.
  • \n

  • Follow all applicable chemical handling, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • \n
