Make a difference in the lives of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. This rewarding, full-time contract position focuses on supporting a mild-to-moderate elementary caseload. You'll work alongside dedicated professionals, using your skills and heart for education near Escondido, CA. The assignment begins on August 19, 2026, and continues through June 11, 2027.
What You’ll Bring:
- Active California Special Education Teaching credential: Mild/Moderate required
- Experience teaching or supporting students with mild-to-moderate needs at the elementary level strongly preferred
- Passion for creating individualized educational plans and adapting curriculum for diverse learners
- Expertise in collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Problem-solving mindset and flexibility in dynamic school settings
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction to elementary students with mild-to-moderate disabilities
- Adapt materials and lessons based on Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, prepare required documentation, and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and classroom teachers to maximize student growth
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and self-advocacy
- Track student progress and communicate regularly with caregivers and the educational team
