Step into a rewarding contract position where you'll make a real difference in LA County schools, supporting students with your expertise as a Physical Therapist. This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week) runs for the entire school year, focusing on delivering high-quality, in-person physical therapy services to students ranging from elementary through high school. Your role may also include occasional home health visits to further support student needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Physical Therapist with experience in a school setting
- Confident working independently and collaboratively with educational teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, staff, and families
- Ability to work across multiple sites throughout LA County
- Experience with pediatric caseloads from elementary through high school preferred
- Comfortable with both onsite school-based services and potential home health visits
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement therapy sessions to support student mobility, access, and participation in school activities
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to integrate therapy into educational programs
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports according to school and legal requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering insight and recommendations tailored to each student’s needs
- Offer guidance and training to school staff on strategies that promote student mobility and independence
