Production Mechanic – 3rd Shift
Location: Cabazon, CA
Pay: $35.82/hour
Schedule: 3rd Shift | 12-Hour Night Shifts | 6AM-6PM or 7PM-7AM | 3 Days On, 2 Days Off, 2 Days On
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Production Mechanic to support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and execute preventative maintenance (PM) activities according to scheduled maintenance plans.
- Perform reactive maintenance to quickly diagnose and repair equipment failures on production lines.
- Complete machine teardown, repair, reassembly, and equipment overhauls.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLCs, VFDs, electric motors, and automated production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and structural equipment issues.
- Identify opportunities for equipment improvements and implement effective solutions to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Train and support operators and team members on basic maintenance practices and optimal equipment settings.
- Ensure effective communication during shift handoffs by documenting and sharing equipment status, repairs, and priorities.
- Participate in special projects, including equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment installations.
- Support vendors and contractors during maintenance, installation, and improvement projects.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures.
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated systems.
- Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, electric motors, conveyors, and production equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour night shift schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree, certification, or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or a related field.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
