We partner with agencies to successfully deliver complex capital improvement programs across education, aviation, transportation, utilities, and public works.

PADCOM is seeking a motivated Junior M&O Project Manager – FETU to support the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Facilities Services Division. This position plays a key role in coordinating environmental and construction-related projects involving asbestos abatement, lead remediation, facility renovations, modernization, and maintenance initiatives.

\n

Position Summary

\n

The Junior M&O Project Manager will assist in managing environmental and construction projects from planning through closeout. The successful candidate will coordinate with project managers, maintenance teams, environmental consultants, contractors, and District stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with District standards.

\n

This position is ideal for project management professionals interested in educational facilities, environmental compliance, and public-sector capital improvement programs.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and expediting facility construction, modernization, repair, and renovation projects.
  • \n

  • Serve as liaison between Project Management Units, Maintenance & Operations, Environmental Consultants, and Abatement Contractors.
  • \n

  • Review Requests for Assistance (RFAs) and determine project scope.
  • \n

  • Review project drawings and technical documentation.
  • \n

  • Coordinate project funding requests and funding packages.
  • \n

  • Track project schedules, budgets, labor charges, and overall progress.
  • \n

  • Review environmental consultant proposals for cost, accuracy, and feasibility.
  • \n

  • Assist with estimating asbestos and lead abatement costs.
  • \n

  • Coordinate asbestos abatement, lead remediation, Task Orders, Job Order Contracts (JOC), and A&B Contracts.
  • \n

  • Schedule environmental remediation activities prior to demolition and renovation projects.
  • \n

  • Review contractor submittals, daily reports, certified payroll, and invoices.
  • \n

  • Evaluate change orders and cost modifications.
  • \n

  • Support project closeout documentation and certifications.
  • \n

  • Coordinate bid packages and contract award processes.
  • \n

  • Maintain project tracking databases and reporting logs.
  • \n

  • Attend Job Start Meetings and document meeting minutes.
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
  • \n

\n

Minimum Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Studies, or related field.
  • \n

\n

OR

\n

    \n
  • Equivalent qualifying experience in lieu of degree.
  • \n

\n

Additionally:

\n

    \n
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional Project or Construction Management experience.
  • \n

  • Experience supporting projects through pre-construction, construction, and closeout.
  • \n

  • Experience working on educational facilities or public agency projects is preferred.
  • \n

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • \n

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with asbestos abatement.
  • \n

  • Experience with lead remediation.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of Cal OSHA safety regulations.
  • \n

  • Experience working with environmental consultants.

  • Experience with Maximo Asset & Work Management System.

  • Public agency or educational facility experience.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of Job Order Contracting (JOC).
