We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Behavior Support Specialist to join our community-based adult day program. In this role, you will provide one-on-one and small group support to adults with developmental and learning disabilities, helping them build independence, develop life skills, and participate in meaningful daily activities.
Responsibilities
1. Desire to help Adults who are learning challenged with encouragement, respect, and overall engagement with them on a one-to-one basis. On-the-job training on the duties will be provided.
2. Great communication skills to understand the limitations of certain individuals and creative ways to work with them.
3. Previous experience working or interacting with adults with learning challenges which could be family member experience as well.
4. Assist consumers with daily activities, including personal care, and recreational activities.
5. participate in ongoing training and professional development related to behavioral management, and crisis interventions
Requirements
- Must have a valid California Drivers License in good standing. Able to have a clear criminal background and drug screen in accordance with California Employment Law.
- Must be over 21 years old and able to get a CPR/First Aid Cert, and TB clearance.
Schedule
- Part-Time
- Monday through Friday
- 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM
