Sales / Project Manager -- Fire & Life Safety Systems
Job Description
Job Description
Location: Greater Los Angeles Area (office-based with field travel throughout LA and Orange County)
Type: Full-Time | Base Salary + Uncapped Commission
About Us
We are an established, family-owned fire and life safety contractor serving Southern California. As a C-10 and C-16 licensed firm, we design, install, inspect, and service fire alarm and fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties — including public works projects. We're growing, and we're looking for a driven professional who can both win the work and deliver it.
The Role
This is a hybrid position for someone who thrives on ownership. You'll develop new business, estimate and close projects, and then manage those projects through completion. You sell it, you run it, you keep the client for life.
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new opportunities across commercial, industrial, and institutional markets, including public bid work
- Prepare estimates, proposals, and bid packages for fire alarm and fire protection projects
- Build lasting relationships with property managers, general contractors, facility directors, and building owners
- Represent the company at site walks, pre-bid meetings, and industry events
Project Management
- Own projects from contract award through final sign-off: scheduling, submittals, permits, coordination with AHJs, and closeout
- Coordinate field technicians, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep projects on time and on budget
- Manage change orders, billing milestones, and project profitability
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in fire alarm, fire sprinkler, low voltage, or a related life safety trade — sales, estimating, or project management
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72, California Fire Code, and the permit/inspection process with local AHJs
- Proven ability to estimate accurately and close profitable work
- Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable juggling multiple active projects
- Valid California driver's license and clean driving record
- NICET certification and experience with public works / prevailing wage projects are a plus
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary plus an uncapped commission structure tied to the profitability of the work you bring in — your earnings grow with your book of business
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, phone, and laptop
- Health benefits and paid time off
- A stable, well-established company with strong vendor relationships and an existing service base — plus the autonomy to build your own pipeline
- Direct access to ownership; decisions get made fast here
How to Apply
Send your resume and a brief note about the largest project you've sold or managed. We review every application and respond quickly to qualified candidates.
