Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay: $19–$20 per hour
Overtime: Minimal, overtime eligible
Position Summary
Caggiano Company is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Prep Cook & Production Associate to support our food production operations. This role is responsible for accurately preparing and mixing production batches using a variety of ingredients, including spices, fresh and grated cheeses, fresh herbs, wine, etc.
When batch mixing is not required, this position will assist with general food production tasks, including meat processing and packaging. Precision, consistency, and strict adherence to food safety standards are critical in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix production recipes and batches
- Scale recipes and formulations to meet required batch volumes
- Prepare fresh ingredients for production, including grating, chopping, and measuring
- Assist with meat processing and other food production tasks as needed
- Package finished products and prepare materials for production
- Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas
- Support inventory tracking and basic production documentation
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
- Comply with PPE and workplace safety requirements
Qualifications
- Previous food production, manufacturing, or cook prep experience required
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes and scale batch volumes accurately
- Comfortable working with raw meat, dairy, herbs, spices, and liquid ingredients
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based production environment
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
- Work in chilled production environments
- Regular exposure to raw meat, dairy, spices, herbs, and food allergens
- Required use of PPE including gloves, aprons, and hair nets
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must comply with food safety and sanitation standards
- Background check may be required
