Job Description

Job DescriptionDescription:

  • Schedule: MUST be available to work a minimum of one day per week (5 hours per day) Monday-Thursday, 1:30 PM - 5/6:30PM, and Fridays, 11:30 AM - 5/6:30PM.
  • Job Type: Part-time, Non-exempt
  • Pay: $20 per hour
  • Work Location: Varies (One of the 10 Boys and Girls Club Elementary School Sites within the Newhall School District)

THIS IS A SUBSTITUTE POSITION NEEDED AT LEAST ONE DAY PER WEEK. We are looking for energetic, charismatic individuals who have a passion for working with children and teenagers and who want to make a positive difference in their community. If you are a caring and reliable individual with a desire to inspire and mentor youth, we want you on our team. This is more than just a job—it’s a calling that requires consistency, enthusiasm, and dedication to helping kids grow. You will work with children from various socioeconomic backgrounds, making a direct impact on their lives and futures.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and delivery of youth development programs under the supervision of the Site Coordinator and Club Director.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with youth in an after-school and summer program setting.
  • Engage with children, ensuring their safety, participation, and enjoyment in activities.
  • Supervise and interact with children (K-6th grade) during after-school hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals and initiatives.

Requirements:


  • MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with children.
  • Must be willing to work at least 5 hours per week (one day per week, 1:30p-5/6pm or 11:30am-5/6pm
  • Should be available year round (summer and full school year)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with children in a positive and effective manner.
  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds, bend, & move about the classroom & playground for long periods to ensure child safety. Must be able to be stationary for long periods.
  • Some college coursework preferred.
  • Able to pass a drug screen, TB test and Federal background check
