Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Los Angeles, CA.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2-4 years of management-side labor and employment experienceto join a collaborative practice representing employers in employment counseling and litigation matters. The role offers meaningful client interaction, hands-on responsibility, and the opportunity to work on a broad range of sophisticated workplace issues.
Responsibilities

Represent employers in labor and employment litigation in state and federal courts.

Advise management on employment law compliance, workplace policies, employee relations, and risk management.

Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.

Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, memoranda, and other litigation filings.

Participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

Take and defend depositions, as appropriate.

Manage multiple litigation and counseling matters while collaborating with clients and legal teams.
Qualifications

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Active membership in the California Bar.

2-4 years of management-side labor and employment law experience.

Experience providing employment counseling to employers.

Strong litigation experience, including motion practice, court appearances, and discovery.

Deposition experience is preferred.

Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $230,000-$285,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
