Controller – Ventura
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a growing group of privately held companies. This hands-on leadership role partners closely with executive management to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, internal controls, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial operations across multiple business entities
- Oversee month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and budgeting
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and cash flow
- Develop financial forecasts, KPIs, and executive reports to support business decisions
- Maintain GAAP compliance, internal controls, and accounting policies
- Coordinate audits, tax preparation, banking relationships, and regulatory compliance
- Improve accounting processes, ERP integration, and financial reporting systems
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, financial analysis, and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with inventory accounting, ERP systems, and multi-entity accounting preferred
- CPA designation preferred but not required
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
