Our line cooks are very important members of our kitchen staff. They are responsible for making sure that food is prepared to the exact specifications of the chef, establishment, and customer. We want our line cooks to grow and move up in the kitchen to positions with more responsibility. The following duties expected of a line cook:
- Station Set Up
- Food Prep
- Cook
- Stock Station
- Clean up
Requirements/Responsibilities
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and wait staff.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must be able to follow printed recipes and plate specifications.
- Experience working in a professional kitchen.
- Experience working with live fire cookery.
- A firm understanding of kitchen sanitation practices and health department standards.
