POSITION OVERVIEW
The Production Scheduler / Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules in a medical device manufacturing environment using Epicor. This role ensures efficient production flow, on-time delivery, and alignment between customer demand, inventory levels, material availability, and production capacity while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
POSITION SUMMARY / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed production schedules in Epicor, balancing customer demand, inventory levels, material availability, and production capacity.
- Translate customer orders and demand forecasts into actionable production plans aligned with operational priorities.
- Monitor production progress and proactively adjust schedules to address delays, shortages, bottlenecks, or capacity constraints.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Planning teams to ensure timely availability of materials, labor, and equipment.
- Analyze production data, capacity utilization, and workflow to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production schedules, revisions, and status updates within Epicor.
- Optimize utilization of labor, equipment, and materials to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and support cost control initiatives.
- Communicate production schedules, priorities, and changes clearly across departments to ensure alignment and execution.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Supply Chain to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and shortages.
- Identify, escalate, and help mitigate production risks, constraints, and disruptions; support contingency planning efforts.
- Ensure all scheduling and planning activities comply with FDA, ISO, and GMP requirements.
- Support production reporting, KPI tracking (e.g., on-time delivery, throughput, capacity utilization), forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of production scheduling or planning experience, preferably in a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Epicor Kinetic or a similar ERP system required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Working knowledge of GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations preferred.
