Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Mod/Severe or ESN Special Education Teacher serving young learners near Concord, CA. This role spans from August 5, 2026, through June 7, 2027, offering a structured 35-hour workweek. With four positions available, you’ll have the chance to focus on a specific caseload: K-2 (10 students), 3-5 (11 students), or 6-8 (14 students), specializing in delivering personalized education to students who require additional support.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active California Education Specialist Credential in Extensive Support Needs (ESN) or Moderate/Severe required
  • Previous experience working with K-8 special education students in an ESN or Mod/Severe setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Ability to cultivate a supportive and structured learning environment
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to advocacy and inclusion for students with diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based instruction tailored for students with moderate to severe needs
  • Develop, implement, and track IEP goals in collaboration with staff and families
  • Adapt curriculum and provide modifications or accommodations as needed
  • Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and other education professionals
  • Create a nurturing atmosphere that encourages growth, confidence, and independence
  • Foster positive, ongoing communication with parents and guardians
