Construction Payroll Assistant

Location: Oceanside, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shift Options:

  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Type: Full-Time

We are currently seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and experienced Construction Payroll Assistant / Billing Support Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting construction payroll, billing processes, job costing, and accounts receivable while working closely with project managers, accounting teams, clients, and field employees.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and supporting daily construction operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with construction payroll processing and payroll-related support
  • Review payroll records, invoices, and job cost reports for accuracy
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and missing information
  • Communicate with employees regarding payroll questions and updates
  • Coordinate with clients regarding invoices, billing questions, and account discrepancies
  • Perform high-volume data entry with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain and update job costing information
  • Support Accounts Receivable processes, invoice tracking, and payment follow-up
  • Assist with construction billing documentation and reporting
  • Work closely with accounting, project managers, and field teams to ensure accurate project information

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of construction billing experience
  • Construction payroll experience preferred
  • Experience with construction accounting systems such as:
    • BuildPro
    • Construction Billing
    • SupplyPro AR
    • Job Costing systems
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable, organized, and team-oriented
  • Comfortable handling confidential payroll and financial information
  • Accurate data entry skills and ability to manage high-volume information
