We are conducting a confidential search on behalf of an established manufacturer serving the commercial and industrial lighting market across North America. With decades of experience developing energy-efficient lighting products and electrical solutions, our client has built a strong reputation for product innovation, responsive customer support, and reliable distribution partnerships. Their broad portfolio serves electrical distributors, contractors, facility managers, and commercial end users through an extensive national sales network.

As the organization continues to expand its national account business, they are seeking a relationship-driven sales professional to accelerate growth within strategic customers and distribution partners throughout the Western United States.

The Opportunity

The National Account Sales Manager will lead strategic business development and account growth across the Western United States. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional who thrives on building long-term customer relationships, expanding enterprise-level partnerships, and driving revenue through national distribution and end-user sales channels.

This role is ideal for someone who combines consultative selling with strong account management skills and enjoys collaborating with distributors, contractors, facility owners, and other commercial stakeholders. You'll play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, increasing market penetration, and strengthening customer loyalty across a high-growth territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow revenue within assigned national and regional accounts.

  • Build trusted relationships with enterprise customers, distribution partners, contractors, and commercial decision-makers.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing customer portfolios.

  • Deliver product presentations, educational sessions, and customer-facing sales support to increase market adoption.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate pricing, product availability, order execution, and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain CRM records, account activity, sales forecasts, and pipeline data with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to uncover opportunities for business growth.

  • Prepare proposals, pricing recommendations, and sales strategies aligned with customer objectives.

  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, and regional business development activities.

  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to strengthen customer relationships and support ongoing sales initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in National Account Management, Business Development, Territory Sales, or Strategic Account Management.

  • Experience selling within a B2B manufacturing, commercial products, electrical, construction, industrial, or building products environment is highly preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage large customer portfolios while developing new business opportunities.

  • Strong negotiation, presentation, relationship-building, and consultative sales skills.

  • Experience utilizing CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications for account management and reporting.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities.

  • Self-motivated professional capable of working independently in a remote, field-based sales environment.
