Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A highly skilled pharmacist is needed to provide professional pharmaceutical care in a southern California inpatient hospital setting for a two-week assignment in August 2026. This role involves ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications while supporting clinical teams with expert recommendations. Location: Yucaipa, CA – a charming Southern California town.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Full-time, per diem)
- On-call weekends and after hours (calls are rare but availability is required)
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and review medication orders for accuracy and patient safety.
- Compound sterile medications including IV admixtures and unit dose preparations (no chemotherapy or hazardous drugs).
- Respond to emergency room codes as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and sterile compounding standards.
- Monitor patients’ medication therapies and provide clinical recommendations to physicians and nursing staff.
- Manage Pyxis machine restocking at two local family health centers.
Qualifications:
- Active and clear California Pharmacist License.
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical software systems such as CSPI, Evident, or Pyxis preferred (training available if needed).
- Experience as the sole pharmacist in a clinical environment preferred.
- Willingness and ability to cover on-call hours.
