Paraprofessional

Location: Redding, CA
Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered)
Pay: $22 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Paraprofessional to support students in the classroom by assisting teachers with instructional activities, behavior management, and daily classroom operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally in a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support under the direction of the classroom teacher.
Assist students with academic tasks, classroom activities, and assignments.
Support students with behavioral, social, and emotional needs using positive intervention strategies.
Help maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers and staff.
Assist with classroom preparation, materials, and recordkeeping.
Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other school activities as assigned.
Follow all district policies, confidentiality requirements, and safety procedures.


Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree or completion of paraprofessional requirements preferred.
Previous experience working with children in an educational or related setting is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Ability to pass required background checks and meet California employment requirements.
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting students with special education needs.
Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies.
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
